Local benefit concert helping hurricane victims
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – While politics have dominated our lives over the past few months, those in North Carolina are still picking up the pieces from Hurricane Helene. However, one group is looking to help them out.
White Squirrel Brewery is hosting a benefit concert called the ‘We Care Benefit Concert,’ and while they have already sent relief, they felt like they could do more. Groups like Tyrone Dunn and Kinfolk, Dizzorderly Conduct, Ernie Smalls Blues Band and many others will be performing to help raise money for the Red Cross, and right now is a very important time as communities begin their rebuilding process.
“I’ve already sent some water to them, but we were like, ‘we wanted to plan it, and do it right.’ And, so, basically, get the money to them instead of just throwing a bunch of stuff that they don’t need into trucks send it to them, tell them this. When he goes to the Red Cross, the Red Cross knows how to divvy it up. And, you know, just like it’s not like it’s just it’s over in a month. You know, these people are just starting to figure out how to rebuild. And so this is when they really need stuff,” said White Squirrel Brewery Owner Sean Stevens.
The concert is this Saturday, Nov. 9, from noon to midnight.
Tickets cost $25, which you can by online or at the door, with all the proceeds going to help those in the Asheville North Carolina region. For more information, click here.
