Remembering local legend Dr. Abraham Williams
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – At Hillvue Heights church in Bowling Green, hundreds of people gathered together to say goodbye to Bowling Green legend, Dr. Abraham Williams.
Williams was a beloved figure of the community, serving as the executive director of Bowling Green’s housing authority for 29 years. In those years, he touched those he worked with greatly, as well as those he came across. Friends and family spoke on their interactions with Williams as well as his fundraising abilities.
Funeral goers say Williams was a visionary, genius, coach, a mentor and superstar. Over the years, he raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the housing authority, built affordable homes and made many friends.
Though he was a long way from Pheonix City, Alabama, Dr. Williams made Bowling Green his own.
