Scammer tries to con Grayson County sheriff
LEITCHFIELD, Ky. – A scammer attempted to con the Grayson County Sheriff.
According to a report by WNKY News 40 partner K105 FM, Sheriff Norm Chaffins received a telephone call from a scammer. The scammer told Chaffins he was going to “scam thousands of people in Grayson County and there’s nothing (he) could do about it.”
Sheriff Chaffins says the best way to handle scammers is to hang up the phone. Police agencies will “will never threaten you with arrest if you don’t pay a fine over the phone.”
