Temple Hill Elementary no longer under lockdown as KSP pursues suspect

TEMPLE HILL, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police is searching for a suspect in the Temple Hill community, according to school officials.

Barren County Schools district communication officer Heather Gardner stated Tuesday that “Temple Hill Elementary School was placed on a brief lockdown this afternoon due to an ongoing situation involving the Kentucky State Police, who are currently in pursuit of a suspect in the Temple Hill community.”

KSP Post 3 interim public affairs officer Allen Shirley confirmed troopers are searching for a suspect that escaped a traffic stop in Barren County.

Gardner says the lockdown is no longer active at this time.
