Scottsville man arrested after shots fired complaint

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – A Scottsville man is facing several charges in relation to a report of shots fired on Friday.

The Scottsville Police Department says it received a call around 3:49 p.m. stating Matthew D. Burchett, 43, of Scottsville had fired two shots at the caller.

Police say Burchett left the scene before they arrived.

According to police, a Scottsville police K-9 and Allen County Sheriff’s Office K-9 tracked Burchett to the Franklin Road area.

He was apprehended later around Oliver Street and arrested without incident.

Burchett was later transported to the Allen County Detention Center.

He is charged with first-degree wanton endangerment (enhancement), first-degree fleeing or evading police and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
