Parents voice concerns at school board meeting regarding recent threats

BARREN COUNTY, Ky. – Parents voiced their concerns about recent school threats during the Barren County Board of Education meeting Tuesday night.

Parents, worried about their children’s safety, asked board members about the safety measures in place and sought reassurance that their children would be protected while at school.

The board responded by saying they are actively working to fill vacant school resource officer positions. Additionally, they have already implemented safety measures, including bullet-resistant windows and doors. The board also assured parents that disciplinary action is taken against students who make threats against the school. They say each case is different. The school board’s policies can be found here.
