Scottsville woman charged with drug trafficking offenses
SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – A Scottsville woman is facing multiple charges related to drug trafficking.
According to a uniform citation, the Scottsville Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a passenger car for speeding on Oliver Street on Tuesday.
The driver was identified as Sara Sanspree, 43, of Scottsville.
Police say Sanspree was removed from the vehicle, and K-9 was deployed. Authorities say a positive alert was given on the vehicle.
According to police, they advised Sanspree they would search the vehicle for illegal narcotics. Police say she then removed a large bag of suspected crystal methamphetamine from her person.
Police say she also advised she had more illegal narcotics in her car in the driver side floorboard. She stated a bag found in the vehicle contained cocaine and marijauana, authorities say.
Police say they also located a large amount of U.S. currency as well as two cell phones.
Sanspree was arrested and transported to the Allen County Jail.
Sanspree is charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (greater than or equal to 2 grams of methamphetamine), first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (greater than or equal to 4 grams of cocaine), possession of marijauana, drug paraphernalia – buy/possess and persistent felony offender II.
