KSP investigating fatal shooting incident

WOOTON, Ky. – Kentucky State Police Post 13 is conducting an investigation related to a shooting incident that left one dead.
KSP says it responded to a call from the Leslie County Sheriff’s Office for assistance in a death investigation on Cutshin Road early Thursday morning.
At the scene, KSP units found Mary Andrews, 49 of London, with a gunshot wound. Andrews was transported to Mary Breckinridge for treatment. Andrews later died from her injuries.
Police say Andrews’ boyfriend William Pennington, 54 of Wooton, discharged a firearm, striking Andrews. Pennington was taken into custody.
Pennington is charged with Manslaughter 1st Degree and is lodged at the Leslie County Detention Center.
The investigation is ongoing.
