Scottsville man charged with possession of sexual abuse material involving minor

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – A Scottsville man has been arrested after police say he exchanged sexually explicit photos and videos with a juvenile.
According to the Scottsville Police Department, officers received a call on Friday for a welfare check for a juvenile.
Police say after speaking to the juvenile and guardians, it was determined the juvenile had been communicating with Jayden D. Poland, 19 of Scottsville. Authorities say the juvenile had plans to sneak away from the residence with Poland.
Through further investigation, police say they learned Poland exchanged “sexually explicit photos and videos with the juvenile.”
Police say they located Poland at a traffic stop, where a SPD K-9 gave an alert on the vehicle.
According to police, a search led to the discovery of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Poland was transported to the Allen County Detention Center.
He is charged with possession of a matter of sex performance by a minor over 12 but under 18, first offense (solicitation), procure or promote use of a minor by electronic means (solicitation), promoting a minor under 16 in a sex performance (solicitation), possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He has since been released.
The investigation is ongoing.
