Juvenile charged with possession of drugs, handgun in Morgantown
MORGANTOWN, Ky. – A juvenile is facing multiple charges, including drug offenses, in Morgantown.
According to a release by Morgantown police chief Giles Taylor on Saturday, the Morgantown Police Department was informed of a missing juvenile that had been spotted near Oak Hill apartments.
Police say there was a court order for the juvenile to be transported to the Warren Regional Juvenile Detention Center.
Upon arrival, police say they located and detained the juvenile.
A further investigation revealed the juvenile possessed a stolen handgun, along with a small bag of methamphetamine and two glass pipes, police say.
The juvenile was taken to the Warren Regional Juvenile Detention Center and faces charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a handgun by a minor, receiving stolen property (firearm), defacing a firearm, tampering with physical evidence and third-degree criminal mischief.
