The impactful artist, Alice Waddell

BOWLING GREEN, KY.- Alice Waddell, is an award-winning artist with a notable artistic style of mixed media that incorporates positivity and unity, and it’s ultimately a way for her to connect with her community.

Alice tells us why art is impactful for her. She says, “It’s been impactful to me because it’s a way of communication and a way to express myself, and it’s really good because it’s me and my paintbrush.”

Putting paint on a canvas is just a part of how Alice’s artwork makes an impact. Alice says, ” Along the way, I’ve been able to work with at-risk youth, people with disabilities. I’ll call them seasoned seniors now since I’m one of them.”

A number of Alice’s works of art are shaped by her real-life experiences. She showed a painting that she had experienced, and says, “This just depicts the life of Jonesville, and I’ve tried to express the livelihood and the disappointment all in one piece, which is sometimes kind of hard to do.”

The art being created here is a form of expression that tells a story, all while uniting communities and inspiring anyone with the eye to see.

Alice shares her experience interacting with the people who see her artwork and how it impacts them. She says, “I had the opportunity to really talk to people about it and to enlighten people on the subject and the history of the community, and it helped them to understand the painting a lot more and to have more emotions about the subject… When you look around, there’s hardly anything that doesn’t coincide with art and art is the element of life. ”

Alice’s limitless and out of the box artwork is fueled by the world around her. This helps her produce art that triggers emotions from experiences they have had. To see more of Alice’s artwork visit https://rogallery.com/artists/alice-gatewood-waddell/.
