Homicide investigation ongoing, Fort Campbell soldier’s mother pleading for information

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – An investigation continues into the death of a Fort Campbell soldier.

Officials have confirmed the identity of the soldier to be 23-year-0ld Soldier, Pfc. Katia Duenas-Aguilar of Mesquite, Texas. Duenas-Aguilar was a member of the division’s Combat Aviation Brigade.

On May 18, the Clarksville Police Department stated on social media that police responded to a call around 8:33 p.m. to a residence at the 900 block of Tiny Town Road.

Police say after locating Duenas-Aguilar’s body and investigating, her death was ruled a homicide.

On Friday, May 24, a release by the League of United Latin American Citizens stated Duenas Aguilar, the victim’s mother, is pleading for the public to help with any information that can assist investigators.

The release further states the already $25,000 reward will be increased for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those allegedly responsible for Duenas-Aguilar’s death. The amount of that increase will be fully announced Saturday, according to the release.
