Pretrial conference set for man accused in Winners Circle murder case

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A pretrial conference has been scheduled for a Bowling Green man facing multiple charges, including murder and abuse of a corpse.

According to court records, 26-year-old David Anthony Profitt appeared in court Monday, where the pretrial conference was set for July 22.

Profitt was indicted in October 2023 on charges of murder, first-degree strangulation, abuse of a corpse, theft by unlawful taking or disposition of an automobile between $1,000 and $10,000, three counts of second-degree forgery and second-degree persistent felony offender.

Profitt was arrested in August of 2023 in connection with the death of 22-year-old Alexandra Hemmann at a Winners Circle apartment in Bowling Green.

In a preliminary hearing on August 30, 2023, detective Grimsley of the Bowling Green Police Department stated that Profitt “ultimately confessed to strangling Mrs. Hemmann to her death.”
