UPDATE: Man arrested in Glasgow murder investigation

GLASGOW, Ky. – The Barren County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a murder.

On Thursday, March 28, 2024 at approximately 11:21 p.m., the sheriff’s office received dispatch to a residence on Lee Fendell Road in Glasgow.

Upon arrival, deputies say they located a dead male, identified as Robert Fields, 55 of Glasgow, with stab wounds.

The male suspect was discovered in the area, and deputies say a witness stated that someone fled the scene before the deputies arrived.

The Barren County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as Dedontae Morrison, 26, of Glasgow.

Deputies say Morrison later told detectives he had gone into the victim’s room and stabbed the victim while he was in bed but did not provide a reason.

Morrison was arrested and faces charges of murder and tampering with physical evidence.

He was transported to the Barren County Detention Center.
