New industry set to call Allen County home

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – Gov. Andy Beshear announced that a new factory facility is bringing nearly 150 jobs to Allen County.

“Today, we approved incentives for five new projects totaling $359 million and 467 New Kentucky jobs. They include a great location in Allen County Bill. Mark is going to spend almost $100 million and create 159 full-time jobs in Allen County, paying almost $37 an hour, including benefits,” Beshear said in a statement on social media.

Belmark, a manufacturer of labels and custom packaging, will move into the Allen Spring Industrial Park just off of highway 231 and will bring jobs that pay up to $37 an hour with benefits. The hope for Allen County judge-executive Dennis Harper is that this is just the beginning.

“Several hundred people leave Allen County each day to go to work in other places and hopefully this will provide them a place to provide for their family to work here now in County said have to leave Allen County. I think once these buildings start going up, I think we’ll get more looks and I think people will definitely consider Scottsville,” Harper said.

The area is already home to the Finnish air control solutions company Halton, and the area is already prepared for others to move in.
