Honoring Kentucky’s Vietnam veterans in Logan County

LOGAN COUNTY, Ky. – The Logan County Archives & Genealogical Society is bringing something powerful to the area and working to celebrate this year those who fought in Vietnam.

Along with the help of 4 other organizations, The Wall That Heals is coming to Logan County, a mobile version of the wall that is dedicated to the thousands of soldiers who died in the Vietnam War. The wall will be built on June 5th, and will be open to the public from June 6th to June 9th. With the wall coming to town, the society is making a book as well to highlight Kentucky’s Vietnam veterans.

Of course you have to submit some information to have a veteran included, but there are no other requirements besides being a veteran from Kentucky who fought in Vietnam. All information for the book and the wall can be found on the “Logan County Honor Group” page on Facebook and https://www.logankyarchives.com/.

Society president Denise Shoulders told News 40 that they’re going to need a lot of volunteers to help monitor the wall for the weekend, around 300 at the most and they’re also still in need of some monetary donations.
