BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A local crisis pregnancy center set to open its doors in spring suffered damage in the Dec. 9 storms in Bowling Green.

With help from many churches and members of the community, two women worked together to create St. Gianna Crisis Pregnancy Home. Though the home is not yet open, the founders say it aims to support pregnant women with nowhere to go.

The home stated the damage extends to fallen trees, including one that fell onto the roof of the house and caused a hole in the structure.

In addition, the detached garage and storage shed were destroyed, according to the pregnancy center. A release sent by the home Monday also says some appliances, baby items and furniture were also lost in the storms.

The home stated cleanup is pending on an insurance adjuster’s assessment of damage to the home and property.

If you would like to reach the house directors, you may contact Kathy Byrne or Missy Monroe at 270-702-4984 or at info@stgiannacph.org.

The home says despite the setback, it still plans to open its doors in spring 2024.
