Man dead after being struck by train on Robinson Avenue, police say
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Bowling Green police say they are investigating the death of a man struck by a train Friday morning.
In a report, police say they got a call shortly before 5 a.m. that a man had been hit by a CSX train along the railroad tracks at Robinson Avenue.
Police say upon arriving, they located 37-year-old Jesse Craine on the Russellville Road side of the tracks. It was determined the train hit Craine, police say.
Police say they began lifesaving measures ahead of EMS arrival.
Police say the train engineer told them it had appeared someone was lying on the tracks and sleeping. According to the report, that’s when the engineer ordered the conductor to sound the horn, which was sounded.
BGPD says it appeared Craine tried to get off of the tracks at that time.
Police say they are now working to get video footage from the train to review the incident.
