Where to sign up for severe weather alerts

WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – With possible severe weather predicted for our local area, it’s important to stay aware with multiple resources.
In a social media post, Warren County Emergency Management reminded the public not to rely on tornado sirens.
These sirens are not designed to be heard indoors and should not be relied on when indoors, officials say.
Instead, here are some ways you can look out for weather heading your way:
- The first alert involves NOAA warnings, which are sent out only to those within the warning box for a tornado. You may see this featured on a weather forecast during a tornado warning. This type of alert is often also used for amber alerts or other serious matters and will automatically be sent without you signing up.
- The second alert, AlertSense, is one residents can sign up for. AlertSense is free to the public and will send notifications no matter where you live in Warren County.
- Keeping a weather radio indoors is also an option.
