Infant CPR kits to be distributed in Kentucky

WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – If you’re a new parent, here’s another tool to add to your checklist – learning CPR could save your newborn’s life.
The American Heart Association and the Kentucky Association of Health Plans want to help you do that. They have distributed nearly 2,500 infant CPR kits to counties around the commonwealth, including Warren County.
The kits are delivered to healthcare facilities, where they can be distributed to new parents. In each kit, you can find an inflatable manikin and video course that teaches lifesaving infant CPR in as little as 20 minutes.
Folks in rural communities often have a harder time getting their child to a health care provider in the case of an emergency where CPR is needed. That’s why these kits are especially important.
Currently, the CPR kits are being given to parents in NICU rooms.
