Logan County Sheriff’s Office investigating shooting

LOGAN COUNTY, Ky. – The Logan County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate a shooting that took place Monday morning.
According to a social media post by WRUS Radio, the sheriff’s office stated in a release that around 9:25 a.m. Monday, authorities received a call about a home invasion on Deerlick Road that had taken place earlier that morning.
Authorities stated the homeowner said to deputies that he was in bed with his girlfriend around 1 a.m. when they heard a loud noise outside the home, stated the post. The post further stated the homeowner said that when he went downstairs, someone forced their way into the residence. The homeowner fired one shot at the alleged intruder, according to the post.
The post further stated the man fled from the scene in an unknown vehicle.
In addition, deputies received information from Todd County Sheriff Tracy White during the investigation that a man with a gunshot wound to his abdomen was dropped off at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville around 2:30 a.m., stated the post.
The post stated the injured man was transferred to a trauma center in Nashville.
WRUS stated the investigation by Logan County Sheriff’s Office is ongoing, and criminal charges are pending.
