Kentucky State Police hold Cover the Cruiser fundraiser
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police invited Special Olympics Kentucky to KSP’s Cover the Cruiser in Bowling Green Wednesday.
The yearly event is held for the public in multiple Kentucky counties to fundraise for the Special Olympics taking place the first weekend of June.
If you donated today, you could write your name on a tag and place it on a Kentucky State Police car. KSP Detective Courtney Milam said the goal is to cover the cruiser in donation paper.
“My favorite part is coming out here and spending time with the athletes like Jacob,” said Milam.
Allen County Special Olympics Coach Melissa Turner has been a part of Special Olympics Kentucky for 22 years.
“It’s just a wonderful thing for kids to participate, and they work hard all year to get to this event,” said Turner. “They can also show up and support and cheer them on anytime there is an event.”
All of today’s donations go to the Special Olympians competing in this summer’s events.
