Beshear visits Bowling Green just days before primary
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear made a campaign stop in Bowling Green Friday afternoon, just days before the Democratic gubernatorial primary.
Beshear visited Spencer’s Coffee Shop in downtown Bowling Green, along with Democratic State Rep. Patti Minter.
Beshear spoke with potential voters about Kentucky’s ongoing pension issues and the opioid crisis.
According to a poll issued last month by the Garin-Hart-Yang Research Group, Beshear is leading his primary challengers, State Rep. Rocky Adkins, Adam Edelen and Geoff Young.
Beshear says he likes his chances.
“We are seeing strong western Kentucky support and while we know we’ll be in the lead when we turn to western Kentucky on election night, I believe western Kentucky is what’s going to bring it home for us,” Beshear said. “It’s not just because I’m the only candidate with western Kentucky roots, it’s because people know I’ve promised to be a good governor for this area of the state.”
Beshear says he’s running so he can deliver real solutions in Kentucky. He also says he running because he’s sick of Gov. Matt Bevin’s rhetoric.
