Kentucky desperate for foster care review volunteers; will you help?
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Kentucky desperately needs people to help review foster cases to help kids have a better life.
Foster Care Review reports they need about 200 volunteers statewide, with urban areas in dire need.
Warren County alone needs about 30 volunteers.
Officials with the Kentucky Citizen Foster Care Review Board said about 730 volunteers across Kentucky are reviewing 9,000 foster cases. To get kids out of neglectful or abusive pipelines and into their permanent homes, they desperately ask for more volunteers.
Kentucky Citizen Foster Care Review Board State Chair Cletus Poat said, “We are in dire need of additional volunteers to fill these [review] boards and to serve the children in out-of-home care due to dependency, neglect and abuse.”
Poat said it would be best to have about 1000 volunteers statewide.
