7 vehicles recovered after reportedly being stolen in Lexington

ELIZABETHTOWN and LEXINGTON, Ky. – Seven vehicles that were reportedly stolen from Lexington are now recovered, according to police.
The Elizabethtown Police Department says just after 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, officers received a Flock notification indicating a stolen Jeep displaying a Kentucky temporary tag was traveling southbound on Patriot Parkway.
Authorities say they responded to the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.
Police say a short time later, a second Flock notification alerted another stolen vehicle was near Ring Road and North Dixie Highway.
According to police, the vehicle was a Ram pickup truck, also displaying a Kentucky temporary tag. Both vehicles were reported stolen from the Lexington area, authorities say.
Authorities say they later learned a total of seven vehicles connected to the same incident were entered as stolen by Lexington police.
According to police, the owner of the seven vehicles, Freedom Dodge, reported the vehicles had been sold to Verdigris Botanica Tribal Nation, an alleged nonprofit organization with an office address listed in Radcliff. However, authorities say the owner stated no payment was ever received for the vehicles.
Authorities say around 7:45 p.m. Friday, Radcliff police received a Flock camera alert indicating a different stolen vehicle was traveling northbound into city limits. According to police, the vehicle was a white Jeep with a Kentucky temporary tag. Police say Radcliff officers located and stopped the vehicle.
The female driver was taken into custody without incident.
As the investigation continued, details shared between the Radcliff Police Department, Elizabethtown Police Department and Lexington Police Department led to two additional stolen vehicles being located at a residence on North Miles Street in Elizabethtown.
Authorities say on Saturday, Aug. 15, a fifth vehicle was found by the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office on Shepherdsville Road.
In a later update, police stated the last two remaining vehicles were recovered, with one located on Robin Road on Sunday afternoon and a final vehicle located Monday morning at a McDonald’s on West Dixie.
Authorities say both of these vehicles were found thanks to calls from citizens.
