58th annual JR. City Championship in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Pick up those clubs and dust off those gloves, because the Paul Walker course is open to teens for the summer once again. With three age divisions for both boys and girls, there is all kinds of fun to be had.

Many community members and sponsors have come together to offer kids entrance into a golf tournament, free of charge. One community partner helping to spread the word is the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, and News 40 spoke to the sheriff about how neat an opportunity like this is.

Sheriff Brett Hightower said in his interview that it’s a great thing for the kids in the community. “You know young people always say they don’t have anything to do, well here’s something, and it might not be something you get to experience every day.”

Hightower added “it’s some good fun but also sports can change a young person’s life for the better, and you never know what’s really your thing until you try it out.”

If you have a physical entry form, you can return it to Paul Walk Pro Shop, or fill out a form online at http://playbgpr.bgky.org.
