2025 Woman of the Year: Lindsey Chaffin Scott
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – During Women’s History Month, there are many organizations that are highlighting women.
This year, Lindsey Chaffin Scott was one of two women honored with as the Woman of the Year by the Bowling Green Human Rights Commission. News 40 sat down with Scott, who tells us what this award means to her.
She says, “These last couple of years I have faced a lot of adversity, trials and tribulations. And so, just to be nominated was an honor. But to actually receive the award was something that I really can’t even put into words.”
Receiving recognition for more than a decade of service not only made an impact on the community through community actions of southern Kentucky – it also motivates Scott.
She says, “To be honest, just to be in a room with other women who have served their community and are esteemed in their field and have different degrees and, you know, just the varying things that they do. And for me to be picked. You know, I mean, my mind was just blown.”
The impact that women like Scott make doesn’t go unnoticed, and as women’s history month continues, News 40 will continue to highlight as many women as possible.
