2019 Med Center Health’s Women’s Conference comes to Bowling Green
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-A day just for women, that was the thought behind Med Center Health’s Women’s Conference in Bowling Green Thursday.
Women from all over the region packed the Knicely Conference Center eager to learn more about how they can improve their health and overall well being.
Around 50 vendors from the South Central Kentucky area set up booths, providing information on everything from plastic surgery to the latest in skin cancer treatments.
Attendees were able to try out laser facials and even receive a massage at the conference.
Presentations took place throughout the day. One of the speakers offered her take on an issue many women face, that is communicating their needs with medical professionals.
“I’m a nurse and I can tell you that you have to be your own advocate, and you have to speak up for yourself. I don’t care how great that health care worker is they can’t interpret how you feel, how your day is going. They can’t interpret how you’re feeling, “said Amy Dee, speaker at conference
Dee also suggests taking notes before your doctors appointment, so that you don’t forget anything that needs to be discussed.
