2 wanted on felony warrants arrested in Allen County

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – Two individuals who were wanted in Tennessee have been arrested in Allen County.

On Monday, Allen County-Scottsville Crime Task Force detectives conducted a traffic stop on a 2005 red Saturn. Authorities identified the driver as Tosha L. Wooten, 41, of Westmoreland, Tennessee.

Authorities say Wooten and a passenger, Robert Coots, 30, of Lafayette, Tennessee, were wanted in Tennessee for felony warrants.

Detectives say they discovered narcotics in plain view in the vehicle. Following this, authorities placed both people into custody.

Authorities searched the vehicle, where they say they found around 40 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, 59 grams of suspected marijuana, 2.9 grams of suspected cocaine, Gabapentin and other prescription pills. Detectives say they also seized drug paraphernalia and U.S. currency.

Both individuals were arrested. Wooten is facing charges of failure to or improper signal, giving an officer false identifying information, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (greater than or equal to 2 grams of methamphetamine), first offense, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (greater than or equal to 4 grams of cocaine), drug paraphernalia and a warrant required for a fugitive from another state.

Coots is charged with a warrant required for a fugitive from another state.

Both remain in the Allen County Detention Center.
