2 from Texas arrested on drug charges in Franklin following traffic stop

FRANKLIN, Ky. – Two people are facing drug charges following a traffic stop in Franklin on Friday.
According to a uniform citation, the Simpson County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the area of Interstate 65 south for a possible rolling domestic case.
Authorities say while responding, they observed a vehicle with multiple traffic violations while traveling north on 31-W in Franklin.
While conducting a traffic stop, authorities say a K-9 gave a positive alert on the vehicle.
During a vehicle search, authorities say they located suspected cocaine, a loaded gun and several items of paraphernalia.
All occupants of the vehicle were arrested for various charges.
According to two separate citations, this included 33-year-old Jonathan Boykin and 32-year-old Jodee Porter, both of Odessa, Texas.
Both remain at the Simpson County Jail on charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (cocaine), defacing a firearm and drug paraphernalia – buy/possess. Boykin is additionally charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
