2 Bowling Green companies receive funding to support technological developments

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Two Bowling Green companies making advances in technology are among those in the Commonwealth receiving funding.
The announcement was made Thursday by Gov. Andy Beshear that a total of eight companies will receive $750,000 in state matching grants to support high-paying jobs and to further grow the state’s technology sector.
According to a release, the grants are part of the Commonwealth’s Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer matching funds program.
“Creating a business-friendly environment that allows for startup technology companies to thrive is a key step in making Kentucky a hub for innovation and high-wage job opportunities,” Beshear said. “These companies are tackling today’s problems with tomorrow’s solutions, helping to make our New Kentucky Home – and the world – a better place. Congratulations to these businesses on this funding, which I know will support all the great work being done across our commonwealth.”
One of the companies receiving funding include BumptUp Labs Inc. in Bowling Green.
The BumptUp Labs project focuses on improving maternal and infant health using a digital platform encouraging key lifestyle changes. This project includes a clinical trial for expecting mothers in the region. “As long as you are seeking prenatal care in Bowling Green, you’re you could potentially be eligible. We’re trying to catch women between ideally between 13 and 15 weeks. If you’re closer to 20 weeks, we can still likely accept you into the trial,” said CEO Rachel Tinius. “You also need to be healthy enough to participate. So half of the women are given this exercise tool and encouraged to use it.”
More information about the app can be found here here. If you would like to participate in the clinical trial, call (270) 745-5026 or email BumptUp at info@bumptuplabs.com.
Officials say BumptUp aims to be a “sustainable platform for safe, effective, inclusive and evidence-based physical activity guidance to all pregnant and postpartum women.”
In addition, Bowling Green-based Caza Innovations LLC will develop a portable optical light source and power meter capable of measuring the power in optical fiber at multiple wavelengths, according to officials.
This project will support installation, testing, operations and growth of optical systems for terrestrial and mobile optical communication markets.
Additional companies receiving funding include B.A. Maze, Inc., Creosalus Inc., HeXalayer LLC, Lagrange Scientific LLC, PGXL Technologies LLC and Space Tango LLC.
