11-Year-Old Brings Gun To Florida School

Officials say the boy had threatened fellow students on the day before he brought a .45 caliber handgun to class. WBBH's Christy Soto reports.

(WBBH/NBC News) — A Florida fourth-grader is facing a felony charge after bringing a gun to school.

The 11-year-old was caught with an unloaded .45 caliber handgun Tuesday, a day after threatening to shoot two students at Osceola Elementary School in Naples.

According to investigators, the school’s youth relations deputy stopped the young boy when he got off the bus Tuesday morning because of the threats made on Monday.

The student was detained and the firearm was taken from him.
