Warren County students celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Day

BOWLING GREEN, KY — Thursday is National Random Acts of Kindness Day, and one Warren County Public School has been doing something for it not just today…but all week!

Bristow Elementary put together an undercover staff team to look for students doing random acts of kindness throughout the building. The students who are recognized receive a pink heart, a treat, and a shoutout on social media.

One group of students we talked to today had been helping the secretary with bus notes. Another group was helping the custodians keep the cafeteria clean every day. This is what the kids had to say about it.

“I was very surprised. I do that not because it’s not something I have to do but want to do and be nice and helpful,” said student Griffin Pate. “I think it’s important because we can spread kindness through our community and everybody can be nice and helpful so a lot of people don’t get mad and frustrated,” said Breleigh Bratcher.

“Sometimes it helps people think they have more to do in life than just do nothing. It gives them worth, sometimes it can make them feel better about themselves,” said Da’kiyhan Austin.

Principal Chris Stunson said these little acts of kindness go a long way.
