100 hours outside? No Problem
BOWLING GREEN, Ky – The Warren County conservation district is doing their 100 hours outside challenge for the second year now, hoping to encourage kids feel the grass between their toes with the incentive of a prize.
On The WCCD’s website or Facebook page, you download a file containing two pre-made documents to start your summer fun, then color in the hexagons and turn in the sheets after completion to be entered into a raffle.
With the age we live in, it can be a little hard to peel your child away from the screen and even parents involved in tech understand the struggle.
According to Mike Lemon, the founder of Cyber Safe Families, if you’re wanting to cut down on screen time, the best thing to do is to slowly set boundaries rather than randomly cracking down.
Both The WCCD and Lemon said the benefits of being outside as a kid are a seemingly great thing, both social, physically and mentally.
