100 gallons of diesel spilled on interstate
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Two lanes of traffic were shut down on i-65 southbound for a portion of the morning in Warren County.
Officials were called out to mile marker 28 due to reports of a vehicle fire.
When the Alvaton Volunteer Fire Department arrived, there was no fire, but a semi-truck was leaking diesel fuel on the roadway.
An Alvaton fire official said nearly 100 gallons of diesel had spilled onto the highway.
The cleanup took nearly an hour using approximately 30 bags of oil dry, causing traffic to become congestion.
Alvaton was assisted by Kentucky State Police and Walker Towing Service.
