1 dead following fatal collision on North Jackson Highway

CAVE CITY, Ky. – A Cave City, Kentucky woman has died following a three-vehicle collision Thursday afternoon in Barren County.

Troopers say they responded around 3:30 p.m. to a request by the Barren County Sheriff’s Office for a collision at the 6000 block of North Jackson Highway.

The Kentucky State Police says it learned that Rylee Gibbons, 20, of Glasgow, Kentucky was driving a silver Hyundai Elantra southbound on North Jackson Highway when Gibbons’ vehicle crossed the center line.

Trooper say this is when the Hyundai collided with a blue Nissan Rogue that was traveling north while being driven by Jennifer Hishmeh, 58, of Glasgow.

The third vehicle, a red Jeep Cherokee driven by Mania Johnson, 32, of Glasgow, was also traveling north when it collided with the Nissan Rogue after the initial crash.

Alveda Jessie, 80, of Cave City, the passenger of the Nissan Rogue, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Barren County Coroner’s Office.

The other injured parties were taken to T.J. Samson Community Hospital for treatment of their injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
