$1.3 million waterline project to benefit Edmonson and Hart County residents

BROWNSVILLE, Ky. – The Edmonson County Water District is preparing to begin a $1.3 million project to provide water to more costumers.

The construction is set to begin in December and to be finished sometime next year.

It will provide water access to 25 customers, make it easier for the company to do future repairs and will add around 30 fire hydrants.

Waterlines are being installed on three roads, Cedar Hill Church Road, Noah Stevenson Road and Patton Road in Edmonson County, and four in Hart County: Cedar Lane, Jim Thompson Road, Highway 728, and Johnson Cemetery Road.

Fire hydrants are essential to fire fighters during an emergency.

Many fires are fought slower due to difficulty getting enough water to the blaze, meaning this upgrade will help local fire agencies do their jobs more efficiently.

The extra fire hydrants also mean nearby homeowner’s insurance fees may reduce.
