Zach Salchli Named Warren Central Girls’ Soccer Coach
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Zach Salchli has been named the new head coach of the Warren Central girls’ soccer program.
Salchli is a former Greenwood girls’ soccer coach, who spent time as a teacher at Warren Elementary School and also was at WKU.
He says the only way he would go back to coaching high school was if a position with the Dragons opened up.
Now, he’s coaching his former students from elementary school now at the varsity level.
“I was a teacher at Warren Elementary for four years, as was my wife,” Salchli said. “We taught next door to each other, 4th, 5th, 6th grade. A lot of those kids are now high schoolers and so when I saw this opportunity, I was like, those are my kids that I have grown up teaching, some of them three, four years, and now they’re going to be high schoolers, so I couldn’t pass it up.”
