“Won’t Be Bullied by Bevin Tour” makes a stop at WKU

BOWLING GREEN Ky.-Democratic State Rep. Patti Minter was joined by educators from around the state in Bowling Green Tuesday voicing opposition to Republican Gov. Matt Bevin.

The “Won’t be bullied by Bevin Tour”, a group organized by the Kentucky Democratic party, made its third stop on the campus of Western Kentucky University.

Minter spoke out on why she feels it’s important to show support for fellow Democrat, Attorney General Andy Beshear, who hopes to defeat Bevin in three weeks and become the state’s next Governor.

Minter, a professor at Western, was side by side with other teachers who feel Bevin has a record of bullying them and disrespecting working families.

“It’s time to get someone into the governor’s office who has basic respect for all working people, will keep funding promises and will value what public education and public employees do,” Minter said.

Bevin has said he does not regret any comments he has made in the past about teachers in the state and has attempted numerous times to meet with teachers.
