Women’s Fund uplifts nonprofits across South Central Kentucky
BOWLING GREEN, KY.- The Community Foundation of South Central Kentucky and its Women’s Fund are making powerful investments in local nonprofits including Junior Achievement of South Central Kentucky, Habitat for Humanity, working to improve lives throughout the region.
Matt Sheffield, development officer at Habitat for Humanity, the Family Enrichment Center, and B.R.A.S.S., emphasized the importance of partners like the Women’s Fund.
“They make very targeted investments in women and children and families in this area—and they make a real impact,” Sheffield said.
For many small nonprofits, recognition from the Women’s Fund as a Final Four candidate offers a meaningful boost.
“We were just so happy for our small organization and for our community,” said Lauren Griffing, president of Junior Achievement of South Central Kentucky.
The journey to becoming a nonprofit that effectively serves the community is often difficult, but leaders say the right support makes a big difference.
“If you have a message, start saying it,” urged Tori, executive director of BRASS. “The right people will find you and help amplify your voice.”
The Women’s Fund plays a vital role in making that amplification possible. Nicki Jones, executive director at the Family Enrichment Center, noted, “Nonprofit is hard because you have to wear multiple hats… but it’s so well worth it.”
The shared goal of uplifting women, children, and families drives the Fund’s investments and inspires the community. With continued support, these organizations aim to make a lasting difference in South Central Kentucky.
