Women’s Fund of South Central Kentucky announces four finalists for annual impact grant
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Women’s Fund of Southcentral Kentucky announced the four finalists for their $140,000 impact grant during an event at Hickory and Oak on Tuesday evening.
The Family Enrichment Center’s Little Learners Program, Friends of Lost River, South Central Kentucky Kids on the Block and the Foundry were named finalists after a committee narrowed down a long list of candidates to these final four.
The members of the Women’s Fund will now vote to decide the winner, with the top vote-getter receiving $110,000.
The other three non-profit organizations will each receive $10,000.
“This year we have two programs and two projects,” said Jennifer Wethington, executive director of the Women’s Fund. “I feel like we’ve got a good balance. It’s going to be a hard decision. At this point right now, I could not tell you who is going to come out of that room with $110,000.”
The winner of the 2019 impact grant will be announced during the Women’s Fund annual dinner on Oct. 22.
Last year, Habitat for Humanity received the $110,000 grant, money which was used to build five new homes in the area.
