Woman sets fire to personal belongings which spread to nearby residence
An Adair County woman is accused of setting fire to her clothes and personal belongings in a driveway, ultimately causing the residence to catch on fire with two individuals inside.
According to court records, the Adair County Sheriff’s Office served Cindy Smith, 44, a warrant for her arrest on Monday, stemming from the incident occurring in Monroe County on September 17th.
Records state the fire caused over $1,000 worth of destruction to the victim’s home.
Smith is charged with 3rd degree arson, criminal mischief and wanton endangerment.
She’s currently being held in the Barren County Detention Center on a $100,000 cash bond.
Jail records show a court date is scheduled for October 2nd.
