Woman dead following house fire in Cave City

CAVE CITY, Ky. –  A house fire Tuesday night claimed the life of a Barren County woman.

According to Barren County coroner Tim Gibson, a house fire occurred Tuesday night at 617 Bunch Road in Cave City.

Gibson says the victim has been identified as 95-year-old Valeria Peden.

Her remains were transported to the state medical examiner’s office located in Louisville, according to Gibson.

Gibson says the investigation remains ongoing by the Barren County Coroner’s Office and the Barren County Sheriff’s Office.
