Woman dead after two-vehicle crash in Logan County
OLMSTEAD, Ky. – One person is dead following a collision Friday morning in Logan County.
According to a release by the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 6:49 a.m. Friday to an injury accident on the 3000 block of East Old Volney Road.
Deputies learned a Nissan Titan driven by 58-year-old Cindy Andelin of Albuquerque, New Mexico and a commercial vehicle driven by 56-year-old Richard Brooks of Park City were traveling southbound on Clarksville Road.
Authorities say learned the Nissan attempted to make a U-turn onto East Old Volney Road in front of the commercial vehicle.
The commercial vehicle then struck the Nissan, authorities say.
Andelin was pronounced dead at the scene by the Logan County coroner. Brooks was transported by EMS to Russellville Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office was also assisted at the scene by the Logan County Burden Bearers, KSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, Olmstead Volunteer Fire Department, McCoy Motors, Shoemakes Wrecker Service and Walker Towing.
