Woman charged with trafficking heroin

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Following surveillance and covert drug purchases, police charged a Bowling Green woman with trafficking suspected heroin and methamphetamine.

Crystall Michelle Crone, 47, 594 Lost Circle, was charged Thursday with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance methamphetamine, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana, according to her arrest citation.

The investigation was a joint effort between the Bowling Green-Warren County Drug Task Force and the Kentucky State Police Drug Interdiction team.

While police were knocking on Crone’s door to announce themselves prior to serving a search warrant, they said Crone attempted to destroy substances believed to be methamphetamine and heroin in a kitchen trash can, according to her arrest citation.

Police arrested Crone after searching her home where they said they found illegal drugs and paraphernalia, according to her arrest citation.

While Crone is charged with trafficking heroin, a preliminary field test indicates the substance found in her home was actually fentanyl, task force director Tommy Loving said.

“We will work through the Commonwealth’s Attorney office to have that charge amended,” Loving said of the heroin trafficking charge.

Police seized the drugs and $729.

Crone was lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail. Warren District Judge John Brown set Crone’s bond at $6,000.
