Woman arrested following a two county police pursuit

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green woman has been arrested following a high-speed chase across two counties.

According to her citation, Shelia Howard was driving a vehicle recklessly on Ky. 185.

After running her plates, a Kentucky State police trooper was advised that Howard has multiple active warrants.

According to the citation, Howard ignored law enforcements emergency lights and continued driving at high rates of speed while weaving in and out of lanes and around other motorists until it crossed over into Butler County.

The car then turned around and headed back toward Warren County where law enforcement deployed tire deflation devices that damaged all four tires.

Howard’s vehicle came to a stop after she threw drug contraband out of her window, according to her citation.

Howard then ran from the car and Trooper K-9 Akim chased her.

Officials then found suspected methamphetamine and paraphernalia in her car, and cocaine was found on the side of the road where Howard had tossed it, according to her citation.

At the jail, officials found more methamphetamine on Howard, according to her citation.

Howard has been charged with first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, fleeing or evading police and multiple drug related charges.

Howard was lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail.
