Woman and dog killed when charter bus strikes them on Interstate 65 in Simpson County

Troopers say Penny Lane, 38, of Cross Plains, Tennessee crossed into the direct path of the bus, driven by Douglas Wallace, 67, of New Albany, Indiana.

Investigators say the woman and her dog were both pronounced dead at the scene.

there were no injuries to anyone on the charter bus.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- A woman walking her dog along Interstate 65 in northern Simpson County was struck and killed by a charter bus late Tuesday night.

According to Kentucky State Police, the crash occurred in the northbound lanes between mile markers 8 and 9 around 10 p.m.

Initial reports indicate the woman was first walking in the southbound lanes and then crossed the center median into the northbound side.

Investigators say the woman and her dog were both killed.

The woman’s identity has not been released.

There were no injuries to anyone on the charter bus.
