Woman accused of running over woman after fight

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green woman is accused of pulling a gun on another woman during a fight and running over the same woman with her car.

Bowling Green police were called to Abel Court Apartments Saturday on a disturbance call and upon their arrival saw several women arguing in the parking lot.

Kanisha Stewart, 31, is accused of pulling a gun on a woman during an argument, according to her arrest citation. She is also accused of then getting into her vehicle and running over the woman’s leg.

After the incident, police said, Stewart placed the handgun in her purse and gave it to another person to hide in apartment 20, according to her citation. Police found the gun and also found marijuana.

Police warned Stewart about carrying anything illegal into the jail and when she was booked into jail, a small amount of marijuana was found hidden in her purse, according to her arrest citation.

Stewart was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, second-degree assault, tampering with physical evidence, first-degree promoting contraband and possession of marijuana.

She was scheduled for an arraignment in Warren District Court Wednesday morning.
