News 40 Weather | A Few More Rain Chances Ahead
WE’RE NOT DONE WITH THE RAIN JUST YET
On Monday, we witnessed a few afternoon showers and thunderstorms. We will see a few more this afternoon as an area of low pressure allows moisture to remain in place and become heated during the late day. As we saw on Monday, any showers that form will move from east to west as we are on the northern periphery of the center of low pressure. The latest forecast is for the low to move a little further north than first anticipated, so rain chances will increase as we head into the upcoming weekend. The highest chances for rain and thunderstorms will come Friday and Saturday. These storms are likely to be slow-movers which could dump some heavy rain in a small area. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will remain in the forecast through the weekend and even into the start of next week.
