News 40 Weather | Not Quite Done With Rain Chances

WEEKEND SHOWERS WON’T BE A WASHOUT
A stubborn old boundary will be the focus of any rain and thunderstorms we pick up this weekend. Starting this afternoon, abundant Gulf moisture returns with a chance of scattered showers and a few thunderstorms (no severe weather is expected). But as in past days, some of these storms could produce heavy downpours, lightning and gusty winds. Rain and rumbles of thunder will continue overnight but again, no severe storms are anticipated. We will see a few more showers Sunday and Monday, but rain chances go down after that. In fact, much of next week looks drier and even a little less humid.
