WNBA team recognizes WKU women’s basketball assistant coach

BOWLING GREEN, KY – WKU women’s basketball assistant coach Tameka Johnson was recently honored as a part of the Seattle Storm’s 25th season celebration.

Coach Johnson played for the Storm for two seasons from 2013 to 2014 while playing in the WNBA for a total of 11 seasons.

“What I appreciate more than anything was that I learned that the voting was done by the fans,” Johnson said. “It didn’t come from the owners; it didn’t come from the general manager or the coaching staff. The fans were the ones that voted. So, to learn that I had an impact on them in the two years that I was there was phenomenal to me.”
